OOTD: Chambray and Green

The weather has been crazy the last couple of days in Northern California, as one of my students said today, “Mother Nature is being ADD!” It was hot and sunny in the 90’s this weekend and now we are having thunderstorms and it has only been in the 60’s and 70’s.  I am glad because I have a few more opportunities to wear some of my favorite pants and long sleeves before it get’s hot!

ignore the toddler finger prints on my mirror, I am!

High-low chambray shirt $6 at Old Navy, bought this weekend.  This shirt was a great find on the clearance rack, it was clearanced because there was a small tear on one of the seams and make-up smeared on the collar.  I am not very handy, but I do know how to do laundry and mend a hole!  As I have said before, chambray is the new neutral and can be paired with everything, but please don’t wear it with pants or bottoms that are the same color, this look scares me!  I can see myself wearing this with leggings and shorts this summer.

Green super stretch cropped skinny jeans by Calvin Klein $18.99 at Costco, last seen here.  I love the color and fit of these pants!  Bright colors are so fun and I am so glad I finally embraced them and have gotten out of the black, white, and gray rut!

Animal print scarf $5 flea market find.  I love animal print, especially leopard!  I think animal print is fun and looks good, my advice is don’t mix prints and don’t wear too much! Start small and then try for more daring pieces!

Copper metallic ballet flats, super old Target clearance find.  I have had these for at least four years if not longer.  I am pretty sure I paid $10 or less for them and they have held up pretty well, a little wear on the toes, but I like the color and they can be paired with lots of different looks.

Gold and rhinestone hoop earrings $3.98 Target, minus 5% by using my Target REDcard, details about this fabulous debit card here.

Stay fabulous and be frugal!

xoxo Kari
